With Legacy, Perdomo Cigars presents a cigar line that not only continues the brand’s history, but also marks a real step forward in innovation. At its heart is a newly developed tobacco hybrid that has never before been used in this form for a cigar and which gives Legacy its unmistakable character.
This special tobacco comes from the 600-hectare Finca Natalie plantation in Estelí, Nicaragua, where it is cultivated in the shaded area of the plantation. A hybrid of Cuban and Cameroonian seeds grows here in mineral-rich volcanic soil, combining the best characteristics of both worlds. Cuban seeds are known for their full-bodied flavor, excellent burn, and aromatic depth, while Cameroonian seeds are prized for their tough texture and delicate, natural sweetness. The result is an exceptional balance of strength, spice, and elegance that gives Legacy a new dimension of flavor.
The Nicaraguan shade-grown wrapper is particularly outstanding, and we have not previously offered it in this form on the cigar market. After an impressive ten-year maturation period in bale fermentation, it then receives the famous Perdomo finish in bourbon barrels for a further ten months. This elaborate refinement ensures depth, complexity, and a full-bodied, powerful smoke in which aficionados can discover notes of toasted bread, chocolate, orange honey, and pepper.
The Legacy line is complemented by an oily dark Maduro version from Nicaragua and a honey-colored Connecticut variant from Ecuador. Both undergo a similarly careful aging process, but are deliberately less strong and spicy than the shade-grown version. Despite their different charms, all variants share a common core: the Nicaraguan shade-grown binder, which is used in every genuine Legacy cigar and impressively reflects the diversity of this new hybrid.
The filler consists of a rich blend of selected Nicaraguan tobaccos from Estelí, Condega, and the Jalapa Valley. Combined with the highest level of craftsmanship, the result is a cigar that combines tradition, innovation, and quality, making Perdomo Legacy a special new addition to our range.
